Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Group Chat Dad, a service operated by DP Labs LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"). By using the service, you agree to these Terms.
What Group Chat Dad is
Group Chat Dad is an SMS-based bot service that helps organizers track RSVPs, split expenses, and manage running balances for group activities (poker leagues, trips, casual recurring events). Members participate by texting in their group's SMS thread; organizers manage groups via a web dashboard.
Accounts
You sign in with your phone number, verified via SMS one-time code (Twilio Verify). You're responsible for messages sent from a phone you control. By signing up, you confirm you're at least 13 years old and that the phone number you provide is yours.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Add members to a group without their knowledge or consent.
- Send unsolicited commercial messages, spam, or content that violates carrier policies.
- Use the service to harass, defraud, or harm others.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the service or its underlying systems.
- Resell or sublicense the service without our permission.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms or that are flagged by carriers for abuse.
Organizer responsibilities
If you organize a group, you confirm that members of your group have consented to be added and to receive SMS from the bot's number on your behalf. You're responsible for the accuracy of group, event, and expense data you enter.
Payment terms
Pricing for paid plans (currently $10/month per recurring group, $10 one-time per event group) is billed to the organizer via the payment processor configured at the time of subscription. Group Chat Dad does not currently process payments between members; settlement happens off-platform (e.g., Venmo). When in-app payment collection ships, separate payment terms will apply at the time of opt-in.
SMS
By using Group Chat Dad, you consent to receive transactional SMS from the bot's phone number for authentication, RSVP confirmations, event reminders, and account-related notices. Reply STOP to any bot message to opt out. Reply HELP for help. Standard message and data rates may apply.
Service changes and termination
We may add, change, or remove features as the product evolves. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms. You may stop using the service at any time; to delete your account, email us using the contact below.
Disclaimers
Group Chat Dad is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that all SMS will be delivered (carrier filtering, outages, etc. happen). For balance tracking, we are an informational tool — we do not guarantee that calculations are tax-, legal-, or accounting-grade. Verify your numbers before relying on them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Group Chat Dad's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the prior 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Minnesota.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be communicated via SMS or email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
